I feel like everyone likes material design nowadays - am I the only one who just doesn't think it looks very good?

    It doesn't look very good. You're right. But I also don't think it looks bad.

    It looks horrible, the colors, shadows, everything. In particular very outdated.
    Even Google stopped to use it for its apps.

    For example in the new version of Chrome for Android they introduced a """new""" UI they call "Modern Design" (which is clearly a copy of Microsoft's "Modern Design" + "Fleunt Design" + "Flat UI").

    Im old school. I like the multitude of theme options Bootstrap 3/4 brings. Material Design looks cool too but I will not be using it in any of my projects.

    My big problem with “flat” designs aren’t that they are ugly(they can be, of course), but if you have a single icon that doesn’t exactly fit the icon language the whole setup feels awkward.

    /*
    Cool! I’ll get a square/circle/polygon shaped icon theme!
    Oh but this one application only has a generic icon.
    */

    Thoughts?

    Feel like it it just good enough to get things done. Not too ugly but usable if you're making a application very quickly.

    Yup, just you. You’re the only person.

    Let's go with the "squircle" everywhere...

    (Other me: No! It is super hard to translate!)
