No doubt that Idea IntelliJ is super awesome!! But I still don't understand who could people afford it? It is so damn expensive!!

Good, refined products are worth the money.

It's great they also provide that community edition. I'm not sure how limited Community is compared to Pro for IDEA, but at least in PyCharm there isn't too much difference you can't hanlde by using an alternative tool for it (e.g. database or Docker support, or profiling).

@Yamemori 90 bucks a year is nothing, especially if spent for make working place better.

@irene 90 bucks is absolutely fine. But that price is applicable from 3rd year of your subscription. For the first year its somewhere around 150 bucks and for second year its 120 bucks!! Now that pricing is something stupid!

I'm so happy I'm a student and have access to their education offer. But it will probably cause me to buy it after the edu license expires, can't live without it afterwards.

I use the toolbox, only 310€ the first year for personal license . Best damn software that exist, I use the same but business license at my full time job.

I use ReSharper, datagrip and phpstorm.

It's about the same price as a Netflix subscription. And you don't earn money by watching Netflix.
BTW what features are you missing in the community edition?
