    Programming is fun if you have house to program in. So money isnt only a nice addiction to it...

    Last week on a job interview (more a consultancy client actually) a management guy, 55+, tells me it's a bit late for me to do a career switch (I'm 40). This is exactly why I'm doing it. I could easily apply for a job as a copy writer or technical writer, but that seems boring as hell.

    It's not like I'm going to make a lot of money as a junior dev, but I don't care.

    @FunkDelegate bloody hell that's the spirit! I wish you best of luck and good fortune!

    @frickerg Thx m8! I have a phone interview tomorrow morning at 9 am. And it's for a company I'd really like to work for.

    @FunkDelegate hope it goes well for you! keep us posted and good luck for tomorrow 😎πŸ’ͺ🏻

    ....until you're employed and you have deadlines to meet. The fun and joyful part of it slowly slips away and then programming burnout creeps in on you.

    Anyway, that's what I'm scared of.

    @Banele true story that bro

    @Banele I mean to an extent, school has been brutal with deadlines... but I still enjoy programming overall... though I'm hoping on the job my attention won't be split across 6 different projects at once...

    Bit of a delusional statement as you're quoting a guy who can work on whatever he wants on his _hobby project_ whenever he chooses to. Most of us have bosses or shitty clients cause money.

    Well I need money and soft dev is the only company that accepted me because of my major (I even tried starbucks)

    Update: I've landed a dev job today! The company is offering me a job as .net dev consultant or MS dynamics ERP training. πŸ””πŸΊπŸ˜πŸš¬ I'm already celebrating, having a spaghetti and Belgian beer in the sun 8)

    @FunkDelegate
    Same age, Same carrer switch, how's it going for you?
  • 0
    @drtokky Well, I've signed my first contract two days ago, so I'm officially a junior developer now! 😁 Maybe it's easier in Belgium than in the states. I was able to attend a .net course in a government program, so it was free for me.

    There's a big shortage in devs in Belgium. I eventually had 3 companies that wanted me. That's before ending the course. Still have 3 weeks to go.

    I got literally fucked off by finding fun in programming. All my dumb ass friends got job by just memorizing stuffs and getting good grades and I'm fucking jobless here in the love of Technology.πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    @FunkDelegate
    Congrats, best wishes for the future

    @drtokky thx m8! I'm into backend myself, but if you're a web dev, you should look into angular. It's in big demand in Belgium anyway. The best advice I can give to you is code every day. At least one or two small programs/exercises on lesser days 8)

    Programming is fun at 100k$ per year not less.

    That "most good programmers" can transfer their salary to my bank account.

    It would be different for different programmers. There are some who love what they do i.e. 'programming', while for others it might be just like any other work that people get paid for. Especially, here in India where 2 of every 3 among the youth work in some IT company, it's quite obvious that not all of them are fascinated by it. Infact there are many who have started to hate it.

    No doubt programming is hectic as well as awesome experience at the same time. Your memes are funny in this regards. I visited https://mobilunity.ch/blog/... website that introduced me with the professional developers for my website.

    Well as the name implies Copy trading is a trade feature that enables you link part of your portfolio to a selected expert trader or platform, so what ever trade action taken by the trader or platform, will automatically duplicate on your portfolio including profit(%) made. For example if you copy my trade and I make 30% profit for the day, you automatically make that too on your account, which adds on your trading balance by 30%. Reach him on WhatsApp +16622192543

    You are a geek if you think programming is fun.

    Not that it means anything. I am just kinda getting bored with being a fucking geek.
