@d4ng3r0u5 I won't be able until after noon. I can't even find a screen shot online. Apparently the motherfucker hit "Shift-Option-Command-r".
-
@JohnScott That's internet recovery mode, supposed to reinstall the original version that comes with that Mac, not the latest.
What options are on the screen? -
@d4ng3r0u5 the only options that show up are language, terms and conditions, something about the drive, and then it freezes right there. It gives an error about how can't install because there is a newer version installed. I'm pretty sure the thing ran Yosemite from the factory, but we had upgraded.
-
What @Teknas said, try Command-R for that. See if it'll let you reinstall what you had.
If that doesn't work, I'd probably use whatever bootable media I had to get as far as being able to copy my data (or failing that again the terminal from internet recovery), followed by nuking it and starting again. -
@Jmann I'm aware of how old he is. He didn't break the computer trying to look that up. He broke it because he didn't like the current version of OS X.

mahaDev22227yInteresting how people are rushing to the rescue because the problem is related to iOS.
Post one such rant about Windows and everybody goes "Arch Linux/fuck Windows"

Help!!!
Motherfucking, 13 year old brother, manages to brick Mac with downgrade. He says he did it because the current version "was bad."
😧
I could use some help with this. The thing boots up. But it's stuck on a screen where it can't figure out which version to use.
