retoor767719dI refuse to call it a handicap. Why are you always stuffing it in peoples face? Most people doesn't know what it is at all and the people that really know will take distance from you (if they're wise almost..). Bipolarity makes and breaks people.

Demolishun3738319dI have peers who are webdevs. But they are learning embedded and desktop dev so they are overcoming their handicaps.

kiki3696819d@retoor it’s only fair if you get 6mo of mania and 6mo of depression. But you don’t, do you.
-
retoor767719d@kiki I'm normal, by default have some manic properties. Rarely experience a mania, but when I have it, I end up locked up. Depression only because of medication. Nobody experiences 6mo mania / 6mo depression.

kiki3696819d@retoor that’s my point. It’s not fair — you spend more time all powerless and depressed than smart, powerful and manic. This is why I consider it my handicap.

jestdotty716619dI read this & thought the question was the opposite
umm I have audio processing issues. so I can't remember things said to me. I understand the message behind their words but I can't literally remember the words.. & thusly I take lots of written notes because I have an eidetic memory so I can actually remember things after I write them down
I'll forget social interactions if they were particularly distressing, and then engage with the person again like nothing ever happened. this was super fucked up and it drove me nuts, like I literally forget when people mistreat me on purpose&then come back getting mistreated again. why would nature do this 😩. makes me feel disabled as hell and drives me nuts. I just can't keep a grudge. seems like a massive fucking liability
.. I also have too much empathy. the disability comes in when people are "forcing" their emotions at me and I can't block them out.. I feel what they feel so they overwrite what I feel 😠, can lose self. grosses me out
What’s the one handicap you have that your immediate peers don’t? Mine is bipolar disorder.
