This is why i could NEVER work a helpdesk job - yesterday corporate head office sent out a company wide email, including the helpdesk address. Helpdesk automatically creates a ticket for any emails, attaching the original email for reference. This morning I see at least 10 helpdesk tix, emailed to me because i was on the original email chain, created by dumb-dumbs saying things like "all these emails must be a computer glitch" "I do not require assistance" without realizing if they just stopped replying they would stop getting the emails!

Helpdesk is SWAMPED with legitimate work but lately theyve had to deal with things like this, I feel terrible for them

    I remember last summer where I was working as a customer support where someone sent an invitation to go to someone's leaving party to everyone of our contacts (roughly 20 000 employees) and many sent emails basically trolling this invitation (respond all).

    It was quite funny, but some people were not the happiest with those emails received and responded with "Stop responding to everyone!"... the response of course being also sent to everyone.

    We received quite alot of calls this afternoon, seeking help to block messages like these. "Just stop responding all together!" - we were all laughing in the office, good times.
