Best way to learn to code? More specifically, best way to avoid distractions whilst learning? I find myself easily tempted to play video games or watch YouTube videos instead that has nothing to do with coding...

Did anyone else suffer from this? Is this just a phase and once I break past it, I'll be really into programming & forget about everything else?

Simple, don’t use YouTube or similar to learn. Find In date forums and books instead, although some outdated books certainly still offer some good knowledge on things.

Define some goal you like to reach and make a todo list of steps how you plan to reach it.

One example would be to build a todo list app or something similarly well defined.

That way you can break it down to small steps where you get to check each step achieved, that can help to keep focus.

And keep The list clearly visible beside the monitor to always remind you its there.

I play v games when in a rut. Sometimes you gots to step out man. So that's fine. But try this, a reward system. Find a complex topic u been having issues with, get it done and understand it, then go kick ass in whatever game you play.

I struggled with ioc and di for 2 days. But got me some reward systems and i was back on the game.

My reward system is boobs. So that is pretty motivating in itself.
