Dont judge a monitor from the back.

It can be a lcd inside a crt case.

What’s wrong with 50+ years old software architect who has hella lot of experience and just wants to work behind his favorite old monitor?

He rocked out back when you couldn’t even talk. He probably did architecture of java banking systems in ERWin or Limnor. He blew up software meetups when IBM Rational Rose was hot. He probably wrote thousands lines of Erlang code. And he’s probably still rocking out.

You write js. He can design better js from scratch.

    CRTs' still have uses,
I see them in neuropsychology labs all the time for tests with humans.
Forgot the reasons why, something to do with frequency responses(?)

@nbamaral it's because crts have constant image, they dont have to reset the pixels

    CRTs are making a comeback.

I have a 3 CRTs at home, one is working, one is not working and one is broken but untested. The working one is 4:3, maximum resolution can go up to 1080p and has VGA + USB.

    Didn’t know CRT still existed...

@uyouthe He probably just uses Excel.

@pmso they sweep. So they are technically resetting pixels

@arjaycodes they update the pixels, but the phosphor mantains the pixels for some time, never going black.

Lcd and leds have a black state to have less drag in images with movement.
