Tracking/logging hours, how do you do it? Is there some decent software for Linux that does this?
I wanna start tracking my time doing specific tasks, so I'm just wondering what other ppl use, if at all hehe1 -
Wish me luck guys I think this is it. I'm going to be financially set for real this time woohoo! Big thanks to my man billy6

Today I felt the pain of losing a child. My test server got nuked, I did it... It was an accident I swear :'(
Will have to spend the day restoring everything dammit!1 -
What do you do when you're trying to push yourself further by learning new concepts and techniques but start to feel the burnout closing in?
Usually I'm useless for about week if I push myself too hard. Would love to overcome this.
How do you guys handle this?4 -
I can't tell you how much I hate people who make articles doing relatively simple things, in node, and instead of showing how to do it, they proceed tell you to install a fucking package (usually made by them)
Yeah no thanks, it's great that you figured this out and took the time to "enlighten" other devs but I'll just look at your repo and use the native JavaScript functions you wrapped on myEgoInflatingPagacke.justAWrapperHuehue(). Bye.1 -
I've made the mistake of reinstalling windows with a ~6 months old installation media.
It's been 12 fucking hours of windows updates. FFS2 -
So I just moved into a new apartment ... wait is the phone plugged to an ethernet port? ha didn't expect to have VoIP, so lucky5

I feel like there should be "dev recruiter" position that people with developer skills could fill. Every time I go to an interview, I just know the person asking me dev related stuff has no fucking clue about anything I'm saying, it's printed all over their faces.
A good developer almost instantly knows if you know your craft or not.
Let's not keep wasting everyone's time -
So I just found an old branch, from an ex co-worker, with a whole bunch of unmerged docs. This effectively cuts my workload for today in half.
Today I'm going home early fuck yeesss
Also I will be sending that guy some well deserved couple of beers1 -
Today I got to experience the fine work of @f03n1x which, turned my phone into a devRant powered vibrator9

You know you've grown when you get your answers from the source code directly, instead of stack overflow
-
That feeling when you refactor that spaghetti mess into clean beautiful code that passes all tests flawlessly4

I must say, this is the only "social network" where I actually post stuff and also enjoy doing it
Thanks @dfox3 -
A long time ago, I've started my journey into web development. Discovered HTML, CSS and was great, then it came WordPress.
As a self taught developer I thought this was an awesome way to develop sites quicker, didn't really knew any better and, for all I did at the time it was fine.
Then I discovered .NET and MVC, I was amazed (I kinda love the MVC pattern)
Then it came Laravel, really really liked working with it, felt free to develop isntead of focusing on mundane stuff
Last week a client came by, requesting a site for his business, he wanted all sorts of custom stuff, but he needed it in WordPress because that is what he knows how to use.
After three days of dealing with "the WordPress way" I'm seriously considering doing the whole thing in Laravel and style the admin to look like WordPress. I feel like wrestling a 500 pound gorilla, geez, why do every little feature has to be implemented in such an unnatural way.
I'm grabbing a hook but to hang myself on it5 -
So I was just installing ram on the new Mobo and MUTHERFUCKING FUCK!!! Guess it's back to 4gb fffffuuckk4
