@electrineer
It's not greasy. I thought it was, but it won't get cleaned. I don't know why it's like that. -
@Michelle That's common. I think I had that same model at work until I recently got a new one.
-
@AhmadIshaq
The point is that I code in a tree. It's more fun than doing it in my room. :D -
@lotd
I tried getting addicted to Ubuntu, but it wasn't visual appealing to me lol. It's not ugly, but it just doesn't appeal to me. Obviously I look for more than appearance, but appearance is one of the factors. -
how in the world are ur nails so short mine are like 5cm long (i.e. from when it stops to touch skin) by now
-
@Michelle im a simple man, i dont see the windows logon, i see linux (zorin i believe), i see vscode, i see firefox, I see python i upvote
-
@YousifMansour my gues is that that is the result of one of the print instructions
-
@electrineer @Michelle that's quite common with keyboards, the keys just get "polished" as you use them, I've seen some keyboards used so much that some of the keys looked like someone took a file and filed them down quite a bit
-
Fuck fuck fuck... Fuck you. I have never thought about this. Now i want to try this so bad it hurts :(
-
@YousifMansour
Lol it's from a writing prompt generator I made. I wrote the prompts quickly so they are messy and don't make sense, but I'll clean everything up later. Both the prompts and the code. -
@Michelle The weather here is blazingly hot, but i promise i will do this. Seems fucking awesome. Just wish me luck if i fall down from the tree. Or worse, if laptop falls.
-
@illegaldisease
Be careful. And when you climb, don't take the laptop with you. Climb to at least the first branch, and have someone give it to you.
If you're worried about falling, don't climb too high. -
Not seen anyone do that before.. it's pretty cool, I'd love to have a tree coding buddy 😅
-
@Michelle "have someone give it to you"
I would prefer to go alone. I think it will be okay if i carry a backpack.
Do you use a pillow or something for your butt, or do you just look for a comfortable place to sit ? -
Looks awesome.
I was programming in a church last week. My gf had a concert there and I was coding during the rehearsal, on the choir benches next to the altar. A musician took pics, I'll see if I can post them here. -
VenomDev7087yIf I did that, the tree would just break :/ (I don’t have any big trees near me) Looks fun tho!
-
baewulf16557y@senzory the next time some asinine post by a well meaning but ignorant man asks why all the initiatives to get women in tech, I’ll just tag you. This is the definition of making tech spaces uncomfortable and unwelcoming to women. What the fuck is wrong with you man
-
@baeovvulf Not my fault your sense of humor is dry and/or broken.
Weird? A bit so. But it was obviously a fucking joke.
Please don't actually reply. I don't have time to do this shit tonight. -
baewulf16557y@Stuxnet sounds like you’re the one who needs to lighten up, you literally pulled out a dictionary to prove a point that has little to no validity, bet you’re real fun at parties...bye tho!
-
taglia5717y@baeovvulf actually, everyone got the joke except you.
That joke make you laugh: good.
That joke didn't make you laugh: still good.
The point is: the message was directed to Michelle, not to you. If she's fine with it, she can say it, but it seems that she got the joke.
And I think that @stuxnet was trying to say the same thing..
Can we move on now? -
baewulf16557y@taglia this is the 1st thing I saw when I clicked on my notif. Maybe just think on this a little harder, you might be able to be a better colleague for your new co worker.
-
taglia5717y@baeovvulf have you ever heard that saying, "Debating creationists on the topic of evolution is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory." ?
Well, go claiming your victory. I'm leaving this useless and nonsense conversation. -
@illegaldisease
This tree is in my backyard, so I usually have my brother give it to me.
The spot I chose is comfortable for a littlw while, but then it hurts later on. I suggest you bring along a small pillow.
And find a branch where you can rest your back and legs on. For me, the branch I choose slants slightly, so my back can rest, and my feet rests on the branch in front, at the bottom. -
@baeovvulf
Don't worry. I didn't get the joke either, and I thought that was really weird and uncomfortable. -
@nicolasm
It's too messy tho. I never, ever show anyone the first draft of my codes. Maybe because I'm a writer, so incorporated my writing habits onto programming, but still. The first draft of my codes are always embarrassing to show. -
@Michelle Thanks for all of these advices. Unfortunately, i don't have a tree in my backyard. I don't evet have a backyard :D
We have a small forest in campus, i will go there when i can. I guess i have to try out at least 10 trees to match your conditions. That will be a long day, but will worth.
My battery lasted around 1.5 hours before. With tlp, now it lasts around 2.5 hours. I will make it last for 3 hours if i really save every bit of resource.
Usually how long do you stay there ? I don't think i can stay there for 3 hours straight. -
@illegaldisease
I usually stay out there for an hour. But I don't spend the entire time programming. I literally just code for about 20 minutes, and spend the rest of the time reading a book.
Good luck finding a tree, it's worth it in the end! -
@Michelle I go to the place i mentioned time to time to read books. I always sat near to the tree. Never ever i thought of climbing to that. I will definitely bring a book, also my unfinished writing drafts. Maybe i will get inspired there.
The feeling when you stare to a dead tree for minutes just near an alive tree is too weird to describe. Doing it on it could feel different. -
@shellbug
Thanks! :)
It's a writing prompt generator. I'm thinking of uploading it on the play store, but I'm not so sure yet. -
@Michelle It can be weirder. We humans actually transfer emotions and extend of our minds, using stains on a slaughtered tree as transmission medium.
Our signal structure is a derivated form of movements of our tongue, with nonsense headers. -
@Michelle do it. 😃 Keep in mind that there is a registration fee of $25 USD:
https://support.google.com/googlepl... -
@Michelle btw, I was also a tree climber when I was young. Last year I found out that a tree I used to climb a lot was cut down. I don't have any picture of it and my memory of it is a bit faint.
If you really like that tree consider taking a few pictures of it for the future. Trees should outlive people, but these are hard times for trees, specially those next to houses. -
@shellbug
Oh, that's really sad. Its a shame people are cutting down trees these days.
Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely take a picture tomorrow. -
@AlgoRythm
Never. :P
I climb up there every Saturdays, and I haven't fallen to my death yet, so I'll continue doing it. -
@jpichardo can you see it in the photo? It's a matte screen so it doesn't reflect that much and it's a tree so it shades.
-
Y u have to be scared?
It's just code!
If I showed you mine, I would feel the same -
@Frederick
There's no escape in my backyard tho. So even if I ran, anyone would be able to catch me. D: -
Noob64607y@j4cobgarby It's a Lenovo ThinkPad.
It can break in midair or vacuum.
And it also hates Ubuntu of all versions. -
@fuck2code
Because you didn't find a comfy branch. Mine was somewhat comfy, but then hurts after 20 minutes. Sit on a pillow or something. -
@Michelle Very good! Maybe we will have cake tonight. Matrices are very important for 3D rendering!
-
@taglia You learn matrix math in algebra but it's not algebra. I actually learned it in pre-calc
-
@AlgoRythm
No need to for that. I baked one last night. :D @Alice can join us.
I wanted chocolate, but my brother lost the mix, so I'm annoyed at him. -
@Michelle But I am your father and I give you permission. You already did your homework... You need cake... This is how this works....
-
@AdrianScrub
I only posted that because I was stressed out. Once I calmed down a bit, I deleted it. :) -
@Michelle
I just want to say
It has to be hard have brother like yours. I cannot imagine what that means for you. Try to talk to your parents and never give up your dreams. I'm excited to read that book 😊. We are here for you in hard times. We from devRant 😀
Sorry for my english grammar 😅
And if u want i can delete it after you read it -
@AdrianScrub
Nah, you can keep that. I'll reread that comment everyone once in a while lol.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. c: -
She's a python
A venomous python
Will lure you into thinking she's a monkey like you
Give her a banana and she'll eat you too -
Makes me think of the snake in jungle book. That's a python, right? _F _F Thruthththt in me... juthththt in me... Cloththth your eyeththth... _F _F
-
@oudalally
Ooh, good idea. But I usually do this without my parents knowing, so if I do this, it'll be hard to escape quickly. -
@Michelle laptops have 2 signs of being used a lot if its plastic you will literally polish the fucker with your skin if its aluminum in theory it can actually react with your skin acids because metals act like bases and darken though I dont think Ive saw anyone with dark arm stains on their laptops yet
-
droidy1236y@fuck2code Sorry, I didn't see the date of the rant but to revive things is good no? 😅 Also, thanks!
Programming in a tree. I usually climb up here and read, but I decided to code, and I didn't drop my laptop :D
I covered the screen with my hand because my code's ugly, and I don't want anyone to see it lol.
