Got fired for taking the initial steps for higher studies . i.e. Writing an entrance test..

Not sure whether to be happy or to be sad..

    companies are the stupidest! never mention any further studies anywhere! Learnt it the hard way!

    Be happy -- any person or employer that reacts negatively to you trying to improve yourself is best left behind.

    They were incredibly paranoid once they knew that and wanted me to give assurance for 2 more years that i wont take any steps for any higher studies..

    Or maybe it was just cost cutting..

    Never tell your employer stuff like that. Keep it on the down low until you have that degree

    The only thing you can be sad about is for you not maxing out your paid annual leave.

    Actually it has a happy ending.. I got selected for Masters and had to attend college after 1 day of my releiving .
