while15187y@fuck2code I'd love Arch, but so far I have 6 failed installs cause I'm not that proficient with linux. -
@while give Antergos a try, much more stable than Arch, but still has all the advantages of Arch systems, else there's lubuntu and xubuntu
-
@darkLord I have used it on my laptop for a long time and it crashed only once and that was my fault, I can go without updating a month and then updating all with sometimes looking at their announcements and that's it, in Arch I was subscribed to endless lists, because ANY update could annihilate your entire system

darkLord9157y@JoshBent That sounds nice.
And yes I agree about Arch. So I switched to Manjaro and never regretted the decision. -
while15187y@JoshBent that's perfect man, exactly what I was looking for. Sleek, stable and not very well knows OS.
Will give it a shot -

Do you believe I did every time, but somehow I always end up fucking something up cause I have very basic understanding of those commands -
darkLord9157yArch linux's official installation guide is sufficient but yes if you don't know what those commands do then it might be a little bit confusing. -
while15187y@AlpineLinnix yup, that part is usually fine.
Last time i gave up cause I couldn't install audio packages -
I have that laptop, it was my first. Ahh, good memories.
I would use Ubuntu Mate, I tried it the other day and the options it gives for desktop layout were awesome. -
while15187y@gsharm5u god damn, why's that? My laptop does overheat like hell amd gpu tho, intel cpu -
gvnix18997y@while a. Poor design by HP
B. The GPU switch between iGpu and dGpu sadly rarely works and dGpu remains active. So drains battery and overheats.
I have one as well. -
gvnix18997y -
while15187yThank you all for helping. After a whole day of distro hopping, to my surprise, Mint turned out to be the best combination of performance and aesthetics.
