So we send a quote out to a client to update his website to make it compliant with the new privacy guidelines: SSL encryption, removing external libraries, removing Facebook Plug-ins, all that stuff. We didn't get a response.

On Monday, he called in a panic. "The website does not work, fix immediately!"

I check out the server, what do I see? An SSL cert installed the Friday before... Client decided to do it himself, on a Friday, without testing. He broke something, but cannot tell me exactly what he did.

And somehow he thinks all that is my fault :D

@Hu-bot0x58 Yes. My first step with *any* website is to https it. Hell, even thedown.website is https!

    Because it fucking matters.

I might be a crazy some of a bitch and even fail to test things before going to prod... godmode activated 😎

But they’re is no way in hell you do server changes on a Friday, regardless of the laws.

But sounds like they had the same things needed I did last month, except SSL, that’s always setup before I even plant a line of code onto a server.

The website is a few years old, and no one ever bothered to retroactively install a cert.

Lol wtf is so difficult about installing a proper cert?

Some people just try to do what they never did as if they can do anything but usually fail at the simplest things...
