Anyone here live near Friedrichshafen (Germany) or Zurich (Switzerland)?

Will be going there for my vacation with my mates and it'd be awesome to meet a fellow (or more) devRanter!

@linuxxx there's no university at the moment, so I could make any time work. Since Zurich isn't that huge, I don't really have any preferences.

We could go to "Dr. Brauwolf" which is a small brewery in Zurich. I was there once with a few mates. They offer a tour and tasting (I think something like 20 bucks or something) and you get 6 beers (2dl each, I think)

Usually I would suggest "Eldorado" as they have 101 different beers, but unfortunately they have a 3 week summer break.

What a pity... i could have helped you in munich!

@linuxxx i recommend you guys buy a interrail one coutry pass. Because switzerland is best to be explored by train. And it's really expensive without an half fare card or interrail.

@linuxxx there are some rentals. I only needed big transport cars so far, so no idea about normal cars. But I guess it depends on where you want to go. Do you plan on just visiting Zurich, or do you plan to visit the country side as well?

@Wack Oh no as in we got a rental in the Netherlands so we'll have a car!

And solely Zurich, I was the one insisting since devranters live there haha ;P

Although public transport in Switzerland is amazing, it is expensive as fuck. In your case I therefore recommend going by car.

In Zurich there are a few bike rental services. There's even a free one run by the city itself "Züri rollt" where you just have to leave a deposite. So to tour the city I'd recommend either that or a full day local public transport ticket.

As parking is expensive as fuck, I could offer that you park infront of our flat, as there's an unused parking space, if you like. It's about 15min by public transport from the main station

I've given @linuxxx my address, so they'll he able to park their car there. Once they are here it'll take about 10-15 min to Stadelhofen (and +5 mins to the HB). Unfortunatelly they don't know yet, when they'll arrive.
