By not accumulating useless data. Data centerss really consume hell of energy

@RantSomeWhere and apply it to AI powered IoT system

@RantSomeWhere Maybe sprinkle some AR/VR on top of it, just in case

Can we keep this thread more serious?

To be honest, we should probably stop cryptomining at every opportunity...
On a serious note: Write software as efficient as humanly possible. If everyone does it you'd probably be surprised how much power we'd save. This is one of the primary reasons I hate software which is obviously consuming way more resources than necessary (*cough* Electron *cough*)

@-ANGRY-CLIENT- I actually agree, sorry, I was a bit taken away.

Anyway after giving it some thaught I think we could also contribute by creating various models and simulations of proposed solutions for the global warming for example.

I read a paper a few months ago that was investigating eco-friendly language by looking at how different languages use processes & CPU cycles, etc.
Was a pretty interesting angle to this problem.

@GeaRSiX Could you post a link to this article if you still know where to find it?

I am developing hardware, too, so my suggestions are a little more HW-centric:

Develop devices/their firmware to function as energyefficient/power-saving as possible within their specs.
Do not create unnecessary waste during the development process and afterwards e.g. less to no paper, no wasting of materials/prototypes/etc.
Use "ecological fair" components if possible e.g. components that were manufactured without too much damage done to the environment. Usually comes with better working conditions at that manufacturer, too.
Automate things that will save power when automated.
