I finally installed Linux Mint.

I had to wipe out my entire disk for this OS to install in the C drive. all my personal files are lost now. fortunately, I took a backup of the imp ones in my ext hdd.

@Keanu I tried it thrice. got the same error every time. so switched to Linux Mint.

and when installing Mint, I said wipe out the disk and install it. it did not throw any error and installed successfully

but Linux Mint is very good. did you opt for the xfce version? that's my favorite DE.
