ritwick1076y@RememberMe IDK not really. I sure didn't notice it and I've used both (KDE and GNOME) for a pretty long while. And KDE 5.13 is actually pretty incredible in terms of CPU usage and overall smoothness. In my experience, the buttery KDE, even if it might consume marginally more power, is totally worth it. Simple animations like desktop switching were incredibly horrible on GNOME. Completely different story if you're talking about lightweight DEs though.

@ritwick haha, chill, just kidding. But yeah, KDE is probably the heaviest one out there (I actually switch off all animations, I find them irritating, no matter how slick they are).

ritwick1076y@RememberMe yeah I can see that. They can be pretty annoying sometimes. I tend to switch between the two. No animations at all or shitload of them everywhere XD
