    @FrodoSwaggins what the disadvantages are and why - what's wrong with systemd?
    I'm asking because I'm planning on building a nice home PC pretty soon and committing to exclusively using Linux on it for the first time ever. I've only ever used Ubuntu and Mint before so I was planning on doing so again because it's what I'm familiar with, but if there's something that works similarly and better, I want to try it.

    @svgPhoenix I've been using Debian for years. Give it a go, it's very similar to Ubuntu, but a lot less bloated.

    I agree with @FrodoSwaggins mostly, Ubuntu is a great operating system yes but it is essentially the windows of Linux.

    Yes it may just work, but it is bloated with out of date apps and tools, has an annoying release schedule and honestly feels a little locked down compared to other distributions

    @brano88 ... I only agreed with him?

    I personally like Ubuntu, it's my normal Goto Linux distro when I need a vm...

    Didn't mean for it to come off that way man
