@desmondanimus @gitlog @nkhan pick a website and a language and just start. Don't think so much and don't get discouraged, everyone struggles in the beginning (and later on too lel).

You could go with Hackerrank or something if you're just testing the waters, Codechef for a fairly challenging thing (Codechef's beginner tier is excellent for starting). Search the question if you have no idea how to solve it, see what concepts are involved, and learn them. Look at other people's answers if you get stuck and come back to the question later on or something. Keep doing this.

You may first want to learn how to do common stuff (eg. STL basics for C++) with your language of choice. Code Wars is pretty good for this, I feel that its challenges really help teach you the language.

Codingame has some nice bot writing puzzles as well as shortest and fastest timed lobby's. One of my favorite competitive sites.

You should play any Zachtronics game. Some competitive goals can be quite hard 😅
