If you cannot speak and read English properly, you won't be able to understand documentation, which would make things...a lot harder, to say the least.

@PrivateGER there is always the ever growing list of non-english programming languages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
on a sidenote: i find it useful to have english as a language reserved for programming stuff, that makes the everyday use of my mother tongue a lot easier, its instantly clear that someone speaks about programming when it comes up..or games -
I guess you have never maintained a chinese piece of code :p
Private void @#$&(*+$:#=$/*/(char #&@)
Im using random characters because I dont write chinese. Imagine everything being in chinese :( -
clax4176y@BurnoutDV thanx for sharing the link. I didn't know that mainstream programming language existed. But it's great to see and know that English is the main stuff used and from the looks of it.. it will remain like that.

dechelon446yAside from understanding documentations etc -
I think code looks most beautiful in english.
My skin crawles if I see something like $ergebnisIdentifikatoren (like $resultIDs). ๐ซ -
Of course
And obviously you'll only get positive responses, because everybody else won't understand your post ^^ -
i am disappointed still not being able to introduce my kids to programming because their lack of english. i think it helps understanding commands and syntax. (beside eso-languages)

@Codex404 yeah one of my fellow Co workers worked with Xiaomi. Their whole code base including variables were in Chinese. He used to sit down with a translator guy to know what are the variable, class name and their meanings to understand what has to be debugged.

user0011016yYou would not believe how bad can a person speak English and still write worse code that that. For a paycheck of course :D
-
clax4176y@erroronline1 I think if you introduce programming maybe they can learn English too. They seem to go hand in hand.

(ููู "ู ุฑุญุจุง ูุง ุนุงูู ")
This is hello world in this language. Uses Arabic, can be used to teach the language itself as well. First time I've seen a successful fully non English programming language.
@Codex404 I'll populate that for ya,
Private void ๅไปไน(char ๅพ้่ฆ็ไบ)

I was just wondering guys. If all developers speak English.
By speak English I mean easily able to communicate at a basic level because from what I know... all programming language had their base vocabulary in English language.
Just wondering!?
