That's too bad. It's nice having these small pleasures.
Maybe you need a special kind of chocolate that is missing a certain ingredient which is responsible for the bad stuff.
Wouldn't know what it might be or whether they even make such kind of chocolate, though. -
@D-4got10-01 I can eat "human" chocolate but I don't know why
chocolate without sugar cane isn't it
ate straight up raw organic dark chocolate and it messed me up still lol
but the human stuff doesn't... mega expensive and the one store I saw it at only randomly carries it -
Step 1: remove sugar (spikes in blood sugar)
Step 2: remove or limit eggs (cholesterol)
Step 3: make it light (no dense stuff)
Thus, CaptainRant trying to help you. -
@CaptainRant I eat 4 eggs a day and my HDL is like 20% higher than the upper bound high and my LDL is normal and this is with a fuckton of oxidative stress and ending up in the hospital a number of times 😏
finally got access to at least some of the tests they did on me. healthy as fuck. other than the mysterious inflammation putting lots of stress on my liver and electrolytes issues due to the full-body inflammation (and the various brain lesions undoubtedly due to inflammation I can't fucking get acknowledged much less fixed for 3 years now)
I eat keto-like I don't have blood sugar issues. hate "normal" blood sugar. idk how people live. you're just hungry all the time. I just wanna devour food if I see it but I never feel hungry really
but no I'm just reacting to something in the cocoa processing steps probably? -
@jestdotty Hmm. An interestingly-placed emoji.
I can't give medical advice, but it sounds like one of those situations where the body is defending against itself.
Yes, frequent hunger.
Perhaps something in the process is making you react (no JavaScript pun intended). https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articl... Allergy to some nuts? How about allergy/intolerance tests? -
@CaptainRant urghhh you wanna solve my health problem? I nearly did a health science degree (but dropped out cuz they didn't teach and I found it to be a waste of my time that's how worthless it was)... before computer science
and the last 3 years of my life I've been unemployed and done nothing but learning about the human body, health, diet, and wtf is wrong with me
my body is in inflammation. I finally got some doctors to actually disclose the tests they did every time something went horribly wrong (after which they ignored me which was not helpful), so now instead of running AB tests on myself like I'm a customer website I actually got some peeks at the values in the admin console. hopefully I can wrath them to shit to do a fucking inflammatory markers test of some sort next time I get the ear of another one of these institutional people -
@jestdotty That is a good question. Do I? I do, but I don't have the authorization or knowledge to. Health Science.. interesting. Hm... I've been thinking about studying Medical on the side.
Just remember your worth is not judged by your job. Good to see you are learning.
Yes, gather your results, discuss. May you find a solution. -
@CaptainRant start with nutrition =]
they don't teach that to doctors but it links to everything else. I found pathways to be useful. it's like code
then after that it's chemical interactions and you can do drugs and herbs and stuff
and then after that stuff gets deep -
@jestdotty Strange.. strange.. they don't? That doesn't sound right. lol. I mean, they know all about food properties to the subatomic level and such.
Nutrition.. chemistry.. yes, I have to get to it.
Deep like organic chemistry? Heheh! Yes, it's exciting, deep stuff. -
@CaptainRant I didn't nerd out that much
just like, what zinc interacts with in the human body
and nope they get one class and then it's never relevant again. wheeee
in health science when I had chemistry the teacher just marked you wrong but never explained anything. you were just supposed to know how chemistry works. I even remember getting marked wrong in HS chemistry cuz that other teacher didn't like my steps... got the same answer but she didn't like my steps. no explanation whatsoever. actually that chemistry teacher picked on me, like would stop the whole class to yell at me even tho I'm a quiet person lol. so never learned it! seems cool though -
@jestdotty Neeeeeeeeeerd.jk.
Yes, it's definitely interesting to figure out the effects of nutrients on the human body. It's all so fascinating!
Ahh, knowledge!
One class? And you're supposed to study 6-8 years for this. I watched this MD girl on YouTube and she had to study about 75 books (in my case I had to study about 50 books for Computer Science), so I figure that there are many in-depth disciplines going on as she mentioned (Pathology, Physiology, Anatomy, Chemistry, Forensics,...).
This Health Science thing sounds interesting. Are you a teacher in it? Hehehe. That teacher you are referring to sounds like a horrible teacher. A really good teacher will always explain the origins of things and every single possible reason behind it, or at least drive you to do that research. I really hate that 'you were supposed to know' part. It applies sometimes but it shouldn't be the starter for knowledge. It looks like you are creative! Yelling.. also not a teacher thing. -
@CaptainRant yeah wasn't teaching so I switched
I guess we had books in computer science but I didn't get them and it was fine lol
you know you're making me think my education was ghetto. but people form that college are actually renowned for actually knowing this stuff when they graduate unlike other places and it's a quite genuine sentiment I ran into often
by this rate I've encountered so many people who don't like questions I feel uneasy asking lmao -
CaptainRant416121h@jestdotty
I went to the best and hardest college in the whole city, where you had a 16% passing chance of getting your degree. Admittedly, that's not a high percentage, and it means people need to put in inhumane hard work. I'll know because I went from the worst grades to good grades later on. I remember in the beginning of the year we had to purchase all books.
I don't want to make you feel bad about your education. You're obviously a talented developer - something that can't be said yet for me. It's quite interesting they know the stuff. I know I had the disadvantage of being behind in Math and Economics when I started out.
Always have the courage. : )
how 2 make chocolate into a healthy food
sigh I miss it. bad stuff happens if I eat it. so sad
