Let's do a simple research here. What is the average fresh graduate salary as a programmer in your country.
In Hong Kong, it is around 2000USD

    For a junior graduate that manages to actually find a job, AUD$40-$50k is what they can expect for the first year or two in Australia.

    From my research 40-60 USD is about right for entry level, depending very heavily on region and career path.

    India - 370 usd a month
    for scale:
    Average cost of a burger-2.5-3 USD
    Average cost of a coffee at Starbucks:3-5USD

    Netherlands: €1900-€2100

    for scale: bread=€2, milk=€1, gasoline=€1,44/ltr.
    Also, about 30% goes to tax.

    anyway, it's hard to compare wages around the globe without comparing other factors as well.

    @kanduvisla Yup, lots of things to take into account. A New York City salary is double that of where I live, for example. But the cost of living is also a LOT higher.

    I just began my 3rd year of my CS bachelor in Norway. I had a job this summer in a rather big company, where I had a gross income of $3900 a month. Guessing when graduated, the salary is even bigger?

    Milk is 9 usd - 1 L of gasoline is 13 usd. Tax is around 60%

    From what I've seen here in the UK it ranges from about 18000 to 30000.

    @JakeHL graduates fetch 30k in the UK under very strict circumstances. you'll probably need to graduate from Oxbridge, work in finance and have a portfolio/internships. can be done but it's tough.

    In Romania as a junior without experience you earn 800-1000$/month. But it depends on the city/region, it could be a little more.
    And for scale:
    Gass: ~1.30$/l
    Bread: ~0.85$
    A dinner: ~5-10$
