Every time that I get a notification on yt that someone has liked my comment that contains "bad words", the total likes on it is 0.

Which tells me that at least one woke snowflake retard has hit the dislike button.

Also, yt not showing dislikes (only likes) is retarded.
At least show me the dislikes for my own comments, buttheads!

But seeing your dislikes would hurt your feelings (that was their BS excuse right?)

I wish everyone was with like and dislike how we are on devRant. Not agree or whatever is just not upvote. Extremely false or rude a downvote and so on. I think Dr and culture is the best. If everyone would vote like we do here, there was no need to hide the down votes. But don't forget when they remove that. They removed the downvotes during the plandemic when everyone was critical to push their own narrative. It's shocking, when it really mattered, they removed it.

They don't want you to feel bad, looking at those stats of upvotes vs downvotes. You are in your safe space, now.

    /s

Yes - it is a retarded idea to hide the thing.

Idk I think it's a bit weird to be upset that you don't get a report of the outrage you caused beyond that it outweighs the support you garnered.

At the same time, I completely agree that youtube's comment system sucks donkey balls from the garbage update propagation to the insufferable opaque and unhandled censorship that leaves broken UI behind when automatic moderation deletes a comment.

@lorentz I don’t think that I cause "outrage" by using some "bad" words like "fucking" or "idiotic".
But I don’t know what’s going on in the heads of morons who dislike because of that, so it might actually be an outrage.

At the same time there are assholes out there who terrorize you but avoid to use forbidden words and that is completely fine by yt standards. Fucking hate that crap.
  • 3
@Lensflare yeah the automod is terrible. I've taken to avoid engaging in conversation on YT because sometimes it decides that a comment is problematic weeks later for no apparent reason, and subsequently prevents me from commenting in the same thread altogether.

I got shadow banned from YouTube years ago. don't even know due to what. I was quite normie at the time even 😔

nor do I even write mean comments...

@jestdotty Perhaps they didn't appreciate the skull on your avatar's shirt?

Ever since they removed dislikes, yt doesn't count totals – it *only* shows likes. If you get that notification, it means someone liked your comment, then removed the like.

Also, yeah, hiding dislikes is retarded. There should be an option in the settings. But then it'd be hard to hide the true reason, which was shadowed promotion of affiliate videos.
  • 1
@cprn are you sure about that?
That doesn’t explain why I get so many likes and the counter is 0.
Are there that many users who like and then remove the like? Why?
  • 2
@Lensflare IDK if there are that many users who do that, but it's what I've seen in a research paper few years back. They liked / disliked their own semi-private videos using services from India, and therefore had exact numbers with thousands of difference. Te research seemed legit. It might have changed since then, but I doubt it - it was made that way for a reason. It's quite possible snowflakes nowadays "prematurely" like a comment when it starts nice, then see a word they don't like, or find the overall tone not as `woke` as they'd prefer. Wouldn't surprise me.

@jestdotty no, they were offended and left

I noticed that some of your comments that I replied to aren’t there anymore. (Such as in this rant)

Have you been deleting them, @jestdotty? If yes, why would you do that?

Reminds me of the multiple times when ostream deleted his accounts because he was so embarrassed of what he wrote.

    Are you embarrassed, too?
  • 1
    @jestdotty what the fuck?

What does this have anything to do with privacy?

    And just… why?

You just make every rant make less sense by removing your comments from it because whoever answered to your comments which you later delete, is now answering to a void.
    And for no apparent reason?
I mean you stated a reason but that doesn’t make any sense to me.

And what bait are you talking about?
  • 1
@jestdotty I mean I get it when you are paranoid. I understand that. But then why only delete those with few upvotes?
If you have those concerns then don’t participate in social media.

Why even have an opinion and write it down when you delete it later?
You make what you say meaningless then.

That’s what doesn’t make sense to me.

You are saying that you just let the internet tell you what opinions you should be having…

    I don’t buy it.

Sounds like you are pissed that many of your opinions are not shared (and upvoted) and then deleting them is your way of coping. The security reason seems like an excuse.

    That’s not healthy.

    Why do I care?
I don’t wish you ill and I see deleting content as similar to censorship.
  • 1
    @jestdotty as I said, I understand that.
  • 1
@jestdotty and no, it really doesn’t imply that.

@Lensflare BTW, my bad, I've misinformed you… I stumbled upon that research paper a few weeks back (*), and it only researched VIDEO likes, not COMMENT likes. Sorry for that.

*) obviously, by then I already forgot why it was relevant, and I didn't save it – doing the life thing is HARD
