Yay get to do it again within 30 minutes. WHY HAVEN'T THOSE FUCKERS SHIPPED MY DAMN RAM YET, I want this to stop
-
Oh, the irony, huh?
I also had a problem w/ swap - initial size was 512 MB for some reason. Increased to 4 GB - problem gone. You might have a more powerful PC, though. -
@whimsical I'd hope so ;P
@polo123qwe Nah, it's not swap, I think the memory is overheating and bitflipping (I have have 128gb with 16gb swap) it's either that or GPU :/ ordering the GPU would probably have gotten here quicker but also a lot more expensive
---
6 fucking times that I counted so far, could be more. The damn next/react server refuses to die and that causes linux to refuse to shutdown so when I pull the cord while it's stuck during shutdown that disk needs to be fixed and using the sysreq doesn't unmount :( (alt + print screen + b, you have to enable the kernel parameter though) -
@BordedDev Yeah that's quite a lot of RAM you have. I bought a second pair of 32 gig sticks for my DDR5 system and it refuses to boot with 4 sticks on.
And about docker, I remember there was a way to skip waiting for a process to die if after some timeout and just shut down, maybe it helps, gpus are quite cursed -
@polo123qwe Hmm yeah I can't run the RAM at full expo speed have to use it pretty close to the jdac standard. I'm running the frontend directly so no docker to kill unfortunately
Every time linux freezes I need to spend ~20 minutes in windows fixing drives...
