The development of https://devplace.net goes very rapid. We have a small user base now and testers and other contributions.
It delivers a lot of features:
- blocking / muting users
- embeds like youtube/video/music/pictures
- markdown supported
- syntax highlighting
SEO is done very well, the site scores 92/100 based on 50 pages. Also sitemap.xml is available.
System is fully backend rendered. It renders quite big pages but we keep it under 100ms mostly.
Smart caching that still allowes immediate update of all static content after deploy.

The project is now 30 days into development and we went hardcore. The quality is greet and it is just very clean. Look at the html source for example.
To comply with some EU standards, it is even optimized for blind people with aria tags.

The amount of bots is halved now since we got more users.

Devplace offers the same culture as devRant and has only benefits on top of it. Much is learnt from devRant, like no need for moderation. Just won`t do it.

There is still a lot to do, but thats the fun part. The amount of (usefull) features that it has compared to devRant or other platforms are insanse.

Project is now 65.000 lines and 1188 files. Well tested using browser tests. It takes ages to run, but i see the huge benefit it delivers.

I finally made an AI model that is 97% accurate of determining spam. I had 30k+ examples of spam and 500k+ examples of no spam. The model size is 12mb. On my dedicated cpu server it takes 3 seconds to determine if something is spam or not. It's written in python. It's made with claude. If someone is interested I can publish it.

I reviewed question answering between four AI`s. I did this before but it was too much work. Now, it is only let a agent run it for a while..

I am watching a video on how async in Rust works and can't stop laughing about the weird crap they say. My god.

I created a mcp for molodetz server so I can connect it to grok for reboots and server stats. It works fine, but slow. It doesn't cache the mcp server signatures so it has to resolve every time what functions it offers. It can take 30s.

My original plan was to give it persistajt memory also for calling but it seems calling does not call the mcp. It would be cool if I could call for server stats and reboots. Alsy, try to say molodetz to AI. Impossible.

The speech these days is very good but really custom words like molodetz don't work.

I actually like the AI legoes movies of Iran. Tbh, America could make them about them too and they would actually too shocking to display on YouTube. But yeah, Trump is easy to diss. I watched so many. But the music is almost sure suno. I really liked making music with it for a while but it's also recognisable. There is a certain type of flavor. For better performance, visit https://dr.molodetz.nl. The site now enables intelligent local caching of resources, with a 1-minute local cache for HTML content. It successfully proxies all external domain resources (e.g., avatars), caching them while excluding API responses to ensure notifications remain current. All resource patches are done decently using beautifulsoup, no regex shit.

It brings back the original devRant experience! Yes, avatars work again on opened threads but not on the feeds list / notification list, those are rendered by JS. Could patch that but for now out of scope.

If your are creating really something completely new, you have a custom idea / algorithm, AI is really against you. So far, I did not really notice it, because lets face it, when are you creating something really new? It`s mostly just all the same, maybe different gameplay, other type of data, but it is still the same. I am trying to reinvent agentic browsing because everyone fails at that. I found the golden hammer. I was so enthousiast that for the first time in quite a while i coded myself again. At a certain moment, i had my skeleton ready and do what i always do: I let AI finish it. That did it completely correct. But then, i went moving on and i started to realize that it was strongly opiniated to do things different > like everyone does > everyone fails.

AI is so interesting, i really compare it to learning C. Everytime you think you master it, you get shot in the foot unexpectedly. With AI it`s exactly the same.

Also, it is just NOT AI. That is ok it is still PARTIALLY useful... Very useful. But the last thing we need is a agentic React and feedback loop. I could write a rant about that as well. Those things are literally a trial on error approach delivering what we are used to from AI. Stuff that kinda works. Slowly, slowly, we find out that we actually don`t want someone to think for us. Maybe that is the great thing and benefit of a computer, it doesn`t think. Maybe the whole concept of AI, the idea of it, is broken.

Just like VR. Lets create a virtual world that looks super closely to the real world. But in reality, we already have a real world and it is not comfortable to be disconnected of it in the form of a headset. I think it will never be comfortable for me.

Some concepts are just better in theory than reality.

Still, I am the creator of the best AI companion / assistant ever! Only issue is, the magic is a bit gone if you create it yourself.
