I have again an idea how NOT to get rich. A donation site that will spread your donation amongst every common used open source library. High level stuff many times have some donation system. But the low level stuff what everyone is relying on barely afaik. I would like this system bevause you can have a big influence with just ten dollar or so what means every project ten cents or whatsoever.

I told my landlord that his rent is so high that I can't eat every day. I think he actually believed me. Fingers crossed. Last time he raised with 50 euros and I'm without warm water now for almost two weeks. That's not very common in the Netherlands. He came a few times and delivered half work. Why does literally every Rust user has issues with his boyfriend?

Everything goes behind payment walls regarding AI. Claude pro sucks, codex got limits, perplexity limited file uploads, I can hit daily limits with gemini that I didn't have before.. It started already with the limited deep search everywhere. The problem is, I'm still paying the same but got less. Wtf.

The rust linux tools for Ubuntu are such a damn failure. They even have different output or do not even cover the full functionality of the real gnu tools. The project is already bonkers, but a bad execution.. At least do that right.

I want to setup a cloud storage provider. I need a backend. At this very moment, hetzner seems most cheap.. But I think it should be possible even cheaper. Anyone an idea how to? I want to offer TB's since my first customer already has that. I already kind of sold it with the hetzner pricing in mind. My application will provide Dropbox like functionality on top of the storage backend like sharing and stuff, online file browsing, a nice PWA. Target audience is families with video's and small businesses. There's room for another European provider I guess.

I found out that my favorite library is way outdated, like a whole version of its biggest dependency. Upgrading breaks everything. I never noticed until I got working with something else that needs the newest dependency. But good news, thus guy has full test coverage. My own vibe cli tool is thundering trough it. I chose the backend using python casing for stuff. I have an rpc that automatically converts getMessages to get_messages using the proxy object to make the source look nice and consistent. But event names are an exception.
