With the rate limits on claude code and openai codex becoming more and more restrictive , I found using RooCode to be a great way to context switch, between Codex,CC and Glm4.6

Especially when using the grok-code-fast-1 model. Currently experimenting with the zed code built in AI system, and that one is doing a better job than roocode so far. But it takes some time before you can make a judgement. But zed has a full yolo mode, the yolo mode of roocode is restricted in execution.

@whimsical I noticed that depending on the model, It's much more autonomous in GLM and CC for instance

Zed is fantastic, but I only use it with claude code

What are your thoughts on Grok-Code-Fast? I testes a few frontend generations, was not that impressed

@jonathands it did some massive refactor for me quite well until stuck. Also experimenting with gemini cli. Claude code i use too. No experience with GLM yet. Doing that using openrouter? Regarding web versions of Ai, dropped grok and gpt a while ago, is also available trough perplexity. Have now perplexity and gemini left. Grok unhinged mode was crazy with calling, like really wtf 😂

@whimsical I use the $3/month GLM Coding plan , I only tested it on sst/OpenCode and Roo , but you can use it inside ClaudeCode too, somebody claimed they used it on Zed, but I was totally unsucessful

Yesterday I did a pretty big feature on a Legacy Yii2 / Boostrap3 app using GLM4.6 through roo and it did an amazing job with minor hickups with bootstrap3

@jonathands that reminds me, I actually worked for two hosting firms, and for one I had to write a hosting panel using yii, but didn't stay long, I got job offer at my favourite company that time. So, not long yii development. Did I dodge a bullet or is yii nice?

I did think to write a proxy for claude code myself earlier but when I researched their obfuscated source I found out that it used many urls and doubted if it was possible but according to perplexity there are proxies. Nice. Claude code is a good one.

I gonna investigate the 3,- GLM coding plan.

@jonathands wow, z.ai around 83% cheaper than openrouter.
