wojtek322194814hI can understand that you write a text yourself and then validates it with an AI. You surely can learn something this way, no doubt (but if it is humanlike or correctly done for niche languages is an other question).
But actually just vibe prompting your task? I do not believe she learned something from it. -
whimsical102713hWell, I can imagine these days that it's hard to motivate yourself still learning the depth of something. I mean, cutting the corner is so damn easy, it's almost stupid not to do it. It's a new complicated era with new challenges. I actually did learn some of vibed code. While I get mainly my expectation (since I kinda use as automatic typewriter) but often I see stuff that I'm like 'wow'. It's actually also impossible to NOT learn from AI I guess.

c3r38r170359511h@whimsical You may learn from AI, but most people surely don't. My brother got a Python script a couple days ago to make an Excel file from ChatGPT and asked me to execute it. You can be sure he hasn't learned ANY Python.
Granma just wants the credit. Old dogs don't learn new tricks. Courses are for credentials, learning comes from oneself. -
@c3r38r170 well, i know almost all it does and it does give me some tricks. But learning something from scratch no. I've learned regex through an llm and fell so hard on my face frequently. Wouldn't have happened if I just did regex101 or smth. But I was writing an interpreter for regex and that was a bit double and as every interpreter writer, did it several times. What a hobby. Sadly llm's are very good in writing interpreters :( Sigh. They destroyed so much.

@afaIk Norwegian (Bokmål, not nynorsk)
Chatgpt does mix them up from what I've noticed and I have barely any experience in the language :D -
I learn when AI coding when the AI codes bad
but I think it takes longer to figure it out. not because I'm using AI to try to figure out why it went wrong but because Google search is just retarded now and the old good stack overflow and YouTube coder knowledges are no longer made for modern stuff. everything is shallow and overly monetized now and it's so miserable

I've enrolled in a language class of a niche language. We had to do our first homework and there is a grandma that wrote her test via Gemini.
What is the purpose of paying for a language class if you don't do the effort to actually learn the language yourself lmao
