 Good soundtrack.

CaptainRant466519h@djsumdog Nice. Yes, great soundtrack. Took me 160 hours to get everything done, including all the side-quests. It certainly has its magic to it. The junction system and the progression is absolute garbage tbh. It doesn’t make any sense.
But the music is only topped by FF7.

CaptainRant466518h@Lensflare Nice to hear about your experience. Yeah, I've seen a lot of people complaining about the Junction system. lmao. Took me a while to figure out too back then. FFVII was my first FF. I don't know if that unlimited gil trick in the first town is true or not. Now remains for me to play the rest of the FF's. Lensflare2123718h@CaptainRant ironically, I loved that junction system when I played it for the first time. Lensflare2123718h@CaptainRant ironically, I loved that junction system when I played it for the first time.
But with every subsequent play through, it became more and more apparent to me that everything is backwards.
I played it at least 6 times.

djsumdog678118hI think my favourite FF games I've beat are: djsumdog678118hI think my favourite FF games I've beat are:

 1. FF7 (original / PC)

 2. FF9 (PS1 / emulated)

 3. FF8 (PC / PS4)

 4. FF7 Remake (part 1, haven't played 2, PS5)

 5. FF16 (PS5)

If I finished 13, it would probably be at the bottom of the list. I never finished 10 either, but I have that for the PS4 and will probably replay/finish it eventually.

CaptainRant466518h@djsumdog Nice completions. I'm selling some gysahl greens. lmfao. For me it was FFVII (PS1, 1998), FFVIII (PS1, 1999). It seemed to me that there were a number of FF games with supposedly horrible UI (full of menus); I think FFXIV? I haven't heard much praise for FFXIII because apparently it's just one long corridor with hand-holding. lol. FFX and X-2 I definitely want to play. They look damn beautiful. This one is a real life FF story series for the fans. Well played:

Woohoow they still work despite it saying "This is a private video". You just have to play the video on the player.

Lensflare2123717h@CaptainRant FF13 opens up much, much later in the game and it feels like a completely different game then. Still one of the worst from the FF series. FFX is great!
FFX-2 I really wanted to like. Attempted to play it like 3 times with a few years in between and always stopped after a few hours.
 It‘s just horse shit.

FF12 was really unique (gambit system) and I enjoyed it until the last third of the game or so. Then it became completely retarded. Rage quit 2 times after the same point in story.

Lensflare2123716h@CaptainRant well… pretty much everything. Lensflare2123716h@CaptainRant well… pretty much everything.

The story feels like it‘s targeted to 12yo girls.
The setting with the treasure hunters and the competing groups is so cringe. (Maybe it‘s just at the start, I don’t know.)
The characters are awful and annoying. Most notably the "Brother" guy.

The fighting feels completely off, compared to all the other FF games.
That one might be extra subjective, but it felt like the worst of the two worlds - turn based and real time. Disadvantages of both combined.
Switching between costumes sucks, gameplay wise.
The skills and the choices of what to unlock next felt really forced and not impactful.
But that might have changed later on, I don’t know.

I played almost every FF game and this one has to be the worst so far.

Turn-based and real-time hm.. sounds annoying.

CaptainRant466513h@afaIk I loved that movie when I watched it in the cinema in 2001. The cool city scene with Aki searching for the plant. The memorable moments between Aki and the captain. I even bought the DVD with all the special commentary from the artists; was very interesting, as they explained all their artistic choices and layers and such. You might have checked it out. If not, here's one of the videos, for example: CaptainRant466513h@afaIk I loved that movie when I watched it in the cinema in 2001. The cool city scene with Aki searching for the plant.
