Job market's gotten way worse. No joke: now, every job I interviewed for requires this:

1) Interview with HR
2) Interview with Hiring Manager
3) Personality test
4) Technical test
5) Interview with CEO

Only if all steps passed and vetted, then ok. It's like we're on a zero-trust policy now. Now even mom&pop shops want technical tests. Tf.

    I got a job offer refused because some bullshit IA estimated that my code was 80% readable and they wanted 90%

    Yea I supposed to have had one home alone coding, than one live, and all others you mentioned.

    And doing binary trees if I remember well doesn't suit me and my coding preferences so I passed even though was great opportunity best paid in my country

    @antigermanist It's absolute and irrational measures like that that are from the bad work places, I'd say. In the end, they're just excuses.

    @freshlyfe yeah ive been rejected because I'm a freelance. Three month later, the position is still open so they didn't find anyone.

    So it looks like there's more hiring in HR, so there's more hiring in people who hire people, bloated and fucking stupid corporative shit. All those fucking mofos don't know shit about coding.

    They take so long to find (what they call) the ideal candidate that they always found the worst/wrong one, fucking classy.

    @afaIk They often accept the candidate to the next phase based on feeling, which technically is not allowed.

    Yeah, well, if you saw the other side of the job market (hundreds of liars and cheaters, mostly from India, sorry), you'd understand. If you post something on LinkedIn looking for a 5+yr ruby dev, you'll get 500 python devs (straight out of college) just throwing their hat in the ring, plus another 500 that say they know ruby but don't, etc.

    ONLINE job markets are ruined. We need local again.

    @AlgoRythm charm & charisma is the key. Because you're right, all those liars, they barely can select on skill. I have a certain type of enthusiasm in me that sells great. Humor also did good always, but lost most of that last few years.
