manbir31446yMine is Gnome, for it's simplicity, productivity and support for a huge library of extensions.
KDE is great as well, and best for people who like close to Windows experience with added tweaks. -
bahua128016yI prefer no DE at all. Just a window manager called through .xinitrc. My current favorite is openbox, though in the past I've used windowmaker, afterstep, fluxbox, blackbox, golem, ratpoison, waimea(RIP), and kahakai(RIP).
I especially miss kahakai. Gone and dead. -
KDE is really great once you customize it to your needs. It feels so natural for desktops. GNome 3 is good but it has some touch optimized parts hence for a desktop usage it feels a bit forced.

manbir31446y@themissingbrace yep, I believe there should be more tablets with Gnome (Ubuntu) support, or even better, pre-installed.

lxmcf199506yPantheon because of its simplicity and elegance with the associated operating system (elementary OS)
Also kind of like gnome and unity8 but no where near as much as pantheon -
Cinnamon, because NO BAR AT TOP and I always liked it more than KDE and Pantheon(I've tried both) as KDE was always crashing for me and I had hard time playing with Pantheon don't know why but because of Pantheon I started to like Plank.
-
I like Unity above anything else, but on desktop I am using Plasma right now because I hate how preinstalled Gnome on Ubuntu fucks up the whole Unity sometimes. Gnome is cancer just like Google is.

I use Deepin DE (on Manjaro) because it's so freaking beautiful/user friendly
And it runs great even on 4gb of ram -
Last time I used KDE, but I really felt the performance hit. After my current project which requires windows, I'll take my time to write something around i3wm. But that alone will take me at least a month, because I want no unnecessary buttons and whatnot so I'll probably have to write the launcher myself.

similar to @bahua, I love Awesome, it's just awesome, bspwm and also, maybe my main WM soon, XMonad, I love Haskell and I love XMonad because it's great!
-
@Linux Tried it on GNOME and was very disappointed with that extension same for pantheon. Maybe I did it wrong, can you provide link where I can do it with minimal effort? Please?

POTUS2296yi3 gaps forever!! The fast window management and switching is just awesome.
If I'm designing more gui based apps or Web pages I usually switch to my other DE which is xfce
