@devTea build wise ThinkPads are pretty solid and I've heard the keyboard is fantastic so most likely end up getting one. But the zenbooks are also nice 😂
-
@xaero agreed. I used a ThinkPad many years ago for a day or so and the build quality was incredible so it's only got better, right?
-
Cant complain about my zenbook... But to be honest I took it just because I wanted to be a bit of a hipster by not having a Thinkpad :D
-
tanami226yI've been using X1 carbons since the 3rd gen... I have nothing but praise for them. They are the perfect size and weight. The keyboard/touchpad always feels right and the drivers for GNU/Ligmanuts always work out of the box for Debian.
-
Asus are shit. Keyboard will shed keys after a bit. Crap build quality. Fuck Asus.

belugax456y@helloworld I beg to differ; I've had an Asus Zenbook Pro (UX550VE) for over a year now, and the only problem I've had so far is driver-related (windows bluetooth driver stoppes working occasionally - ubuntu always works). My brother also uses a lot of Asus stuff - and he never experiences problems.

alkuzad14806yNewest Dell xps is considered perfect machine Dell could make (they fixed thermals and camera position). I have xps 15 and infiniscreen is marvelous, despite being 15' its so compact that dimensions are like for 14' (Zenbook is bulky) . Build quality is top notch.

620hun83706yI have the XPS 13 from last year, and I actually prefer it to the newer model. The webcam position is bad, but how often do you use it? Otherwise it’s a slick machine.
-
river2261486yI like ThinkPad, but since Dell makes XPSs with Ubuntu (meaning drivers will be there) I will say xps.

Maybe check versus.com, it's nice site I use for comparising phones. Laptops can vary a little but it's still viable -
beefdead2386yI would go with the Thinkpad. They've a build quality which exceeds the others from what I've seen so far. :)

Going to be programming, running Ubuntu nothing too power intensive but want the power there if need be. Plus I do love a solid build and keyboard. Thoughts?
