Anyone knows a good way to enable dark mode for any website? I used to use the Stylish plugin for firefox to get dark themes on sites I am visiting frequently such as github, gitlab etc however most of these themes broke pretty often.
Are there other ways to dark theme websites, in a way that is more reliable and doesn't break on every second website visit? ._.

I presume these plugins are performing some kind of css override, I imagine this is the only way, and that is why it will fail more times than it will succeed.

This question inspires me to make an extension for this.

Theoretically it's easy: inject a master darktheme css to every page. Maybe if you wanna get fancy, scan the page for colors and modify them accordingly to maintain a certain feel from site to site.

Practically, it's gonna look awful. Certain things won't change color if they aren't accounted for, icons and images won't change (and the people who match backgrounds on images rather than transparency? Oh god), etc.

Still. Seems doable. Ish. Realistically you will either have a universal solution that looks good quite rarely everywhere, or a solution that looks good most places because it maintains a theme for thousands of sites.
