I just found a new WhatsApp Crash Exploit. Full denial of service right there. An attacker could send a message to a Chat (be it private Chat or group Chat) and everyone who receives the message has no chance of starting WhatsApp again. It crashes and won't restart.
Tested on latest version on Samsung Galaxy S6 and S8. Don't know if it works on other versions but I am pretty sure it does. (It's midnight here, noone online to test)

The fun thing is, I knew this Bug for a long time but when I last tested it, nothing happened. Which means this Crash is only possible because someone at WhatsApp programmed a new Feature...

    If you talk to people who use whatsapp then might i suggest raising your standards a little?

    So it might be a functional bug, per https://quora.com/How-do-I-report-W..., if there is no reward then post it on 4Chan and watch the world burn.

    @ganjaman I'm a sheep, I follow the people. And well the stuff I talk about with people on Whatsapp I dont mind sharing with everyone.

    @ihatecomputers Telegram, Threema, wire, viber are just few alternatives to WhatsApp that are not owned by Facebook and don't save your contacts on their server

    Didn't they recently find another whatsapp exploit that let remote attackers install Spyware on your phone? I saw that in the news a few weeks ago.

    On a related note, I'm never going to even try whatsapp.

    @devTea I have to express my respect for whatsapp. It’s got some super annoying issues like my accounts constantly disappearing no matter how many times I sign up but it’s dope otherwise.
    Line I never really took to or bothered with.. whatsapp is(was) ok but so gay that it’s tied to a mobile service number. If it wasn’t it would be so dope when travelling frequently with no fixed mobile number.

    Well I am not sure where to report this issue, their support email address is just a bot which responds to what it thinks is the question. *facepalm*
