    Why is it 4k and not 4kp? 🤔

    @HampusMa because there's no 4096i and 4096p. And shorter of both is 4k

    6k
    kkkkkk + 999 💵 stand

    @HampusMa Implementation incomplete. Computer doesn't know whether to interpret it as kkkkp or kkkkpppp.

    @spyridonas @HampusMa you could use 2160p instead though 🤔
  • 1
    @err-occured well the concept of interlaced died, since there's no other scan than progressive anymore why have the p at the end?

    @err-occured @HampusMa @spyridonas

    4K is a cinematic 17:9 resolution rarely found on displays, what people call 4K is actually UHD-1 🤓

    And yes, the stupid thing is that 5K at 16:9 is actually 5K, because it's picked at the kind of arbitrary 5120 line point, while the displays advertised as 8K tend to be 7.68K.

    And when you think the QHD/WQHD/UWQHD naming scheme is better... that means 5K ultrawide would be ultra-wide-ultra-high-definition-1 UWUHD-1? But 16:9 1440p was already already wide WQHD, so why isn't UHD called WUHD.... and how many wides and ultras can we realistically keep adding 🙄

    OK fuck this, it's best to just be explicit and say the full thing: "I bought a 3840x2160 display with a size of 32 inches and a refresh rate of..."

    Stupid neighbor: "Oh you bought a 4K screen?" NO IT'S NOT 4K IT'S 3.8K IT HAS LESS HORIZONTAL LINES THAN SPECIFIED BY THE DCS STAND... OH FUCK YOU YES I BOUGHT A 4K DISPLAY YOU MOTHERFUCKER
