Elyz69656yI don't have the best relationship with my dad either, I feel ya on the weird feels during Father's day.
-
My father is not the perfect father.
But he was so kind, never hit me or even tried. Yes he pushed me to study for example but when I don't he looked ok and not angry (don't know why).
Oh boy, I miss him too much..
I am on another country btw -
@NoMad It doesn't matter, still child abuse. No grade is worth the pain and anxiety.
-
@NoMad I'm from Brazil, and it is against the law here to hurt kids and teens, it doesn't matter the reason. I'm pretty sure it's also against the law in the US though, at least it should be in any country.
-
@NoMad Also, if you think not beating your kids is the same as pampering, you really should not have kids
-
@NoMad There are shitty people here, that's why they passed the law in the first place... Congrats on finding that I live in a place with a crime rate, like idk all places
-
@NoMad and LOL I just said that beating the shit out of kids is bad, you shouldn't be offended with that, that's hardly a controversial statement

c3ypt1c96545y@NoMad I personally think that any kind of beating is bad. As children, me and my brother have been whipped with belts, cables what not, and I really think that I'd come out with a little less mental problems than I have right now, if that didn't really happen. I also didn't like seeing my brother in pain so I volunteered to be whipped instead. My parents only let me once or twice. He was like 4 damn it. He'd used to make this dying sound. Like he exhaled crying and held his breath out for up to 20 seconds. From this, you can probably see what my stance is and why I think strongly about it.
If it gets to the point where you're beating your child every day, it's pretty terrible. There's either something wrong with the parents or the child. I really don't know which in my case, maybe both. And if your child is stealing and bullying, there are other better ways than violence. Hitting children in a situation like that (bullying/stealing) can make them think that their parents are just as bad as them, but the parents don't get punished. In my opinion, I would agree with you somewhat: a kid that steals/bullies needs therapy of some kind, but I think hitting them black and blue would make it worse at any age. -
c3ypt1c96545y@NoMad I agree, my parents are human (somewhat) but I hate them.
I agree that the world is shit. It's like the first thing you learn at school. The kids are shit. The teachers are unfair. Everyone around you is against you, except the handful of friends you have. I don't see how parents being unfair and not being there for their child is going to help their situation.
And I agree, challenge all authority, but when you have a child that's got no respect for authority that they steal and bully relentlessly, that's bad too. -
c3ypt1c96545y@NoMad I mean, the option of self defence or the defence of your family is still there.
My father used to beat the living shit outta me for getting low marks during my school days. Happy Father’s Day lol
