So I hear some drama going on in Vuejs community related to next version which will bring breaking changes.

I was just getting into Vue and feeling happy about learning such a beautiful and simple framework.

What do you guys think?

    Positive: Makes things cleaner
Negative: Need to rewrite lots of stuff.

For a new project I for sure will go with v3 when it is out, but not gonna spend time rewritting existing ones unless it is really worth it.

In the link you shared someone suggested making it as a new project and I'm all in favor of that, sudden changes will drive devs away, no one has the time to rewrite a lot of their earlier projects.

Just front-end development being its usual self

    Same drama happened with Elm

As if a major release would never contain breaking changes...

Ohhh boy. Wait actually this makes my life interesting. I worked with a company for free for a semester on a Vue project. Maybe they'll be looking for someone to come stitch the thing back together soon 😅 I know they don't prioritize real devs on this task so that code is going to be worthless if they don't make sure to prepare..

Looks like a lot of drama occurred due to misleading information. Vue community still looks good, proposed changes look good, rfc was done well.

Current stable isn't broken so just don't switch 🤷‍♂️

you can still use things the old way
