Since the last Windows Update broke my wife's laptop (the WiFi driver doesn't woro anymore) she's moving to Linux. I hope it goes well since she is a non-techi. I kinda am excited.
The biggest problem will be the lack of Adobe Illustrator. 😕

    No no nooo, windows updates have never broken anything to ${me} so most likely you just did something wrong. Maybe your hardware is faulty or maybe you have a virus or some fishy software. It's your fault you know..

    As if Linux is pinnacle of driver stableness.

    If she needs that for work, or otherwise has a strong reason to use it, you're better off reinstalling Windows.

    Otherwise, good luck with migrating your wife!

    @SomeNone (@dfox) I wonder if Adobe someday will offer @Linux compatibility... 🙄

    Just reinstall the driver...

    Can't she just run with with wine or proton?

    @AL1L that is one thing I tried at first wich did NOT work. Thanks...

    @matt-jd run what? AI?
  • 1
    @Wombat yes AI and other Adobe products, or maybe they don't work properly that way?

    @matt-jd wine does not work for me. I will try proton next.

    Adobe CC doesn't work with wine since like 7 years ago, and it probably never will. Inkscape+gimp?

    @Lor-inc inscape beeing an alternative is a joke, right? 😐

    @Wombat I don't know a better one. Besides, Inkscape can be pretty powerful if you can just learn the overcomplicated and inconvenient UI.

    @Lor-inc yeah I agree on the second part. Overcomplicated.
