I fuckin love technology man.

Whenever I'm walking up to my apartment I can turn my lights, tv and Xbox on AND even have the game I want to play loaded up before I unlock the door.

Maybe not a 15yo from Russia, but his actions are recorded and someone else has access to the logs. That's not cool.

@Root and that's the reason why I only have lights and a speaker in the way of "smart" devices.

But then again, 2 girls have tried drugging me at two different bars in the past, does this mean I am not gonna enjoy female company at bars or bars as a whole anymore? no, but I will be smarter. My boy here can enjoy iot all he wants whilst taking the precautions for it. Being exposed to something that can be manageable is pretty real as well.

Bonus: I almost never use my card unless I'm there to physically use it myself.
Double bonus: I never get delivery because everything I would have delivered is within a few miles and I don't care to pay someone $5+ to do something I can do.

Go turn on three lamps manually every time you enter your apartment and you'll quickly stop doing it for an easier version.

Some people enjoy the risks, others don't.

The only internet of shit devices I have are lifx light bulbs (which don't have a mic) and they will get their own VLAN and FW zone once I'm motivated to connect them to the other SSID.
