As a developer of system critical software I tend to be obsessed about efficiency. Sometimes a short function is as efficient as it needs to be. Other times you need to build a large complicated structure to reach the efficiency needed for large or complex data. This caused me to pause and have respect for the efficiency of the creators of modern day windmills. I may have killed 2 birds with one stone, but am in awe of killing thousands of birds with one windmill.
