I used to code in the cab where the train operators drove the trains pretty frequently. I've also coded in an airplane hanger that was turned into a train factory, but it was less exciting then you'd think.

At the time I was working for a train company so it wasn't weird. I got pretty used to it. We weren't allowed to code in the same cab if the operator was driving the train, so I'd sometimes pop into the spare can because their seats are really comfy.

Airplane hanger sounds more exciting than you think

@stop There were some pretty strict rules setup preventing us from having devices in an active cab. To the point where we could lose our jobs. They mainly revolved around cell phones, but if you got caught by the wrong person it could extend to laptops as well.

@electrineer The airplane hanger was a gutted hanger used for train assembly. I only really did some tiny programming there for the security system to fix a bug going on with the error reporting part of the software. Most of the time I was up there to fix broken machinery. It just feels more than programming in the lrv cabs I suppose because I never got very much done there. But the location was cool. There was an entire room coated in brass plates used for radar dampening or something. It was empty at the time, but it was cool to see.
