The whole series is softcore porn. The ending is shit. Don't want to spoil it here by explaining why ending was shit.

What the fuck. That was the point of the whole series. They don't say anything about the the origins/secrets of the angels/evangelions.

And the penultimate (or the last one. I don't remember) episode can be completely skipped.

@v-vp A lot of anime is strange and has fanservice. If you can handle that it can be enjoyable. There are only few animes without fanservice and that is shame.

And I forgot to mention 1 more thing. Fuck Shinji and his daddy issues.

@v-vp I watched it years ago, and felt exactly the same way. Strange ending with no answers provided almost as bad ad the last episode of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica.

Misato always promises fan service, but it never comes. That's part of the joke :)

@Gregozor2121 Well, my friends who watched this anime watched a ton other. I never heard them complain about the ending more than with this one.
But there's worse of course, and the anime wasn't complete shit
