@arcsector No - so that they can verify that you are sitting at the computer. Typical of managers who have no idea what their team is even doing, which is why they are unable to tell whether a reasonable amount of work is being done.

@Fast-Nop couldnt be more true. But when you suggest "hey let me take on this project which has a high rate of return in a short amount of time" they shut it down and decide your time is better spent grinding than possibly making something that could advance your whole team's position.
