Unpopular opinion from a web developer: I hate neumorphism.

    That's actually the general opinion. Designers love it because they're running out of ideas not owned by Disney.

    @SortOfTested i just hope it stays in 2020 and when/if we get through it, we can all forget this year as a whole...

    I'm personally in love with skeuomorphism and dynamically appearing widget groups. Think devices in a rack. Nobody likes my GUIs for some reason.

    Interfaces should reflect the unique attributes of the medium. Making software GUIs look like physical objects is lazy design, re-implementing some familiar analog interaction in a medium that can't fully reflect it instead of creating an interface that takes advantage of a digital display and can only exist thus.

    Even for the humble button, it's much easier to create an element that's unambiguously activated or not using just a filled rectangle than some weirdly shadowed bubble.

    @Demolishun I don't want an interface that is more sophisticated than my dick.

    Unpopular opinion: {inserts the popular trend of shitting on neumorphism}

    I agree but you've had to have known this isn't an unpopular opinion.

    @Fast-Nop and just how sophisticated is your dick?
    I have to set a standard for this!

    On another note, shadows piss me off most of the time.

    @C0D4 It's just accessible and touch friendly. :-)

    I tried neumorphism, mixed feelings tbh some stuff looked really good most downright horrible. It's one of those things that are really hard to get right.

    @Fast-Nop fuck, another accessibility friendly feature.

    And neumorphism doesn't follow badic software principles like
    KISS (keep it simple Suresh) or
    GDSITYTKIS (God dammit Suresh, I told you to keep it simple).

    I like it but it looks too futuristic/cute for most applications in my opinion.
