Never did a prep for before interview when I was the candidate... that's until lately, when I was told I need to interview some candidates. I really had no clue on what to ask...2

I hate it when I reject their laughable offer and then they just go on and ask from me to recommend any friend for THAT position. Bitch, I rejected your offer for a reason, what makes you think I'll just throw my friends into those positions that I find offensive for myself. And also it's your job to find people, not mine.
And worst of all is when that come the other day with a different and even more laughable offer and I reject again and they again ask me for recommendations and the loop goes on until I HAVE to become an asshole and tell them some swearing words they could never think of.4 -
Not a rant but a question...
Do you guys reply to recruiter emails? I mean sometimes I feel like that they just bulk-send emails and usually I don't even bother but sometimes I receive second and third emails from them and I don't know how to politely tell them that I'm not opened for new opportunities.
Worst thing is that I don't even have many developer friends so I don't have anyone to recommend to them (because I know recruiters are just doing their job too).
I just want to know if it's rude to not reply at all?3 -
I was reviewing an Angular (remember this) project where I work to find any possibilities to optimize the performance of app. For a moment an idea came to me to look and analyze package.json and see if there is any package listed there but it's not being used in the application.
...aaaandd there were fucking 32 unused packages. 32 packages that have been installed but are not used anywhere in the application. 32!!!!!
And you know what the best part is. 2 of them were react packages. I mean, literally, their name was react-bllabllablla- component, and when I visited npmjs website, their description was react component that does bllabllablla. It's fucking react....... It's in the name, it's in the description. Is my company giving jobs to fucking blind developers or what? I'm going crazy!5 -
I was looking at 2019 stateofjs survey. I'm really surprised with all this hate towards Angular. I've been using Angular for past 3 years now, and apart from the mess with versions, I think it's the most complete and beautiful framework out there. I get that not all the people like Angular that much as me but 38% satisfaction (compared to 78% for preact and 88% for svelte for example) in my opinion is craziness.

Question: What tools/software do you use to write API documentation of applications with NodeJs back-end (assuming that you can not use tools like ex: sweager for weakly typed languages)?2

I don't know why is that everytime you guys find a security bug or a data leak or that someone is saving plain passwords on their database, you try to cover and censor the company name. Listen people, fuck the company and their name and their brand if someone's data might be in danger. Everybody should be aware of what is happening with their personal information.
Also, maybe would be great if devRant would let users to post anonymous rants for this kind of issues or a special thread with latest news about our online security.3 -
Probably discussed somewhere in here but I wanna know which Cherry MX keys you guys prefer the most for programming.
Also any recommendations on a good keyboard or images from your keyboards would be cool ⌨️🖥️ #KeyboardsAreImportant7 -
Spend last two hours trying to get a language pack for Microsoft Office. Two fuckin' hours with just an error saying "Please check your internet connection and see if you have space on disk"
Yes motherfucker, I fuckin have internet connection and I have 1 fuckin terabyte free on my fucking disk.
The only fuckin solution on Office's forum is to uninstall and reinstall the whole office software. Just to add one fuckin language pack.
I'm going crazy... Everyday I hate Microsoft products more and more and fuckin more.1 -
Me: Can you write the exact code one more time but in C language this time, so we can see it?
Other: But why, what's the problem?
Me: I don't know, maybe is garbage collector which collected all your code because IT LOOKS LIKE TRASHHHHH :@:@:@:@2 -

I just discovered that Windows has a built-in emoji intellisense which can be invoked with ( win_key + ; ) and this is awesome

While you're typing and you remember this is not the correct password for this account but you're too lazy to backspace all that state of the art you just wrote so you just ENTER the shit out of that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Couldn't save a file because it showed me that this file is opened somewhere else. So I go to the resource monitor to check for its handlers, but only explorer.exe showed in list. I restart explorer and get back to the code. For the first time..... for the first time in my life I hoped that this won't work. I press Ctrl+S, andddd, file was saved.
So, basically, windows's explorer can lock files. Nice job Microsoft. Nice job. -
Everybody trying to create THEIR own universal platform so we must choose which universal platform is more universal than others1
