First line gets 1 space
Second 2, 3rd gets 4, 4th gets 8...
Then people will write less complex nestings!

I can guess the reason

Their IDE likely displays info like ”0 references” above each var/method/class.
So they can’t see original newlines. 😩

@jiraTicket dont think so, I'm not expecting that these devs where smart enough to have an editor with that enabled, they were probably using sublime or something

Linters and formatters exists for this exact reason. If they didn't the murder rate in IT would be much higher.
