Yeah6916288ySo, do I understand correctly that your old laptop does now nothing, but this nothing it does fast?
And on top of that you got high security through obscurity? -
Yeah6916288y@arent8 lack of others knowledge is the definition of obscurity.
Your non tech friends may not know, but a Hacker targeting (Arch) Linux will have the knowledge. And if a friend of yours - for whatever reason - would want to sneak a peek, he could learn some Linux, too. -
Yeah6916288y@arent8 anyways, what I told is highly unlikely. The way you put your arguments was just interesting for me.

arent8988y@Yeah69 Yea, but I'm not saying Arch is immune. By security aginst friends I mean it's harder for them to use witout my knowledge (I haven't told anything about "hacker proofnes")
And as I said some can use it. I just like thinking about computer like dairy. Some content it contains you want to share and some not.
And well it's rather fine third party side effect than planned security feature.

Haveing Arch Linux on my old laptop. Before Arch it was slow. Now I have OS so minimalistic that there's almost nothing after booting.
I even have to start GUI manualy beacouse I don't need it always.
Almost non of my friends can use it so my data is safe here (I like privacy).
But for downside I imagine useing vim in text envirement during flight. Non tech guys can assume that useing vim is plane hijacking.
