One day, I decided to switch to Wayland. That marked the end of my screensharing.

Wayland is the epitome of the linux effect for me. No other piece of technology makes me go "This is so much better once I can get it working properly" more.

Docker is close, with its "This is so much simpler, as soon as I can figure out how to set file mode on this database import actually hold on my node container seized up let me restart"

It's fine, save the compositor having no way to give an application access to capture the desktop itself. 🤷‍♀️

@SortOfTested In my case it was fine, save for the fact that I was on a hybrid nvidia gpu hooked up to a usb hub for multi monitor. I found at least 3 separate issues where the consensus on a fix is "yeah no."

Why did no one got the idea oft an X12?
Truetype support and other features that are currently seperate programs could be builtin and it would be much better, since not every pixel would need to be transported from the client to the server.

I use my Linux desktop to open Visual Studio Code and a terminal emulator.

@SortOfTested not just that. I had switched and it makes exchanging keyboard/mouse between machines inoperable. Synergy-foss is what i use but doesn't work with wayland

@stop since x11 is the most widely used its not gonna be updated, especially if you cant just update and everything will work immediately without editing anything
