After reading this post I'm like what's next ? No fukin iPhones in the box just $999 for a satisfying unboxing experience

Some of those crazy iPhone users would buy a $999 box that's just a sticker with a logo in the box.

No charger makes sense since Apple is allegedly R&D'ing a portless phone.

Phone prices are bonkers all around.

I'm happy with my Pixel 3a price and performance.

Was happy to see Apple offer a lower prices phone too.

If you asked me i never would have expected many people would pay 1k for a phone but they do...

@FrodoSwaggins The SE is the only reason I'm going back to iOS. It's literally their only competitive phone. The rest are just expensive jewellery.

I kind of agree w/ their decision: the target customer will probably already own a few chargers already, they might not need a Nth one.
That’s less electronic waste.
(I do hope they’ll provide the charging *cable* though, those tend to breakup easily)

@zlot can't agree more with you but if we dig deeper what about the people buying an iPhone for the first time. Definitely they have to buy a charger and we all know that ain't cheap. So overall a brilliant marketing strategy

You what? They could literally make the iPhone 50 bucks cheaper and not include the the charger plus cable and offer the bundle for the same price it currently has sells. People would still complain because they always do. The ones that already have the charger and cable can buy it for cheaper and if you don't then you can get the bundle for the normal price.

But nah Apple is Apple. That would be 50 bucks they won't get for free.

@FrodoSwaggins if they go with usb like everyone else then it makes sense not to include a charger since they can be shared by multiple devices. (And if you don't have one there are lots of high quality and reasonably priced ones you can buy (+ a bunch of virtually free fire hazards if you prefer that)

Most people who buy a new iPhone likely already have the charger that would come in the box.

Most people who would need a new charger would buy a third party charger and keep the boxed one in the box.
