It happened.
It finally fucking happend, I wish it didn't, but it happened.

I was in my very first call through zoom were I didn't even speak and didn't even really need to listen.

About 1h.

Everything could have been an e-mail, of course

I do my best coding during those.

@N00bPancakes I do my best power naps during those.

@F1973 I guess because you only have 1 thing that might interfer with your focus and you just ignore that, so you're most likely focused on your own stuff...
but that's a wild guess

You just had your first one? I've had at least one a week for the past... uh... entire history of my employment.

@F1973 I think my productivity while on meetings that I'm just listening too is more about my inherent distractability / lack of focus.

Give me a minimal amount of distraction / thing to occupy some of my mind and it's enough to allow me to keep on task / focus.

No such additional distraction and I'm likely to ... distract myself and go off the rails ;)

Got one coming up today at noon. I’ll probably use the time to make some other calls.

Slurp pasta at them menacingly.

When I worked remotely for a major company several years ago, that was my daily reality. Every single WebEx meeting could’ve been an email.

@N00bPancakes nice. So I'm not the only one with this wierd distraction mechanic :D

@Jedidja My son is doing school from home next to me, he pays way more attention at home because he can sit there with some silly putty in his hand and fiddle with it, or bounce on his chair while he is watching the class .... for some of us, it's just a thing ;)

Some people really enjoy or endure long meetings.
