flag020328yI too feel productive at night. Plus there's a lot less of real world disturbances at night.
-
Koolstr27908y@flag0 that is precisely why I do it. There's just too many distractions during the daytime that I can't get any work done. I love the peace and quiet that comes with working at night. Nothing to distract you from getting done what you need to get done. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this way π

Dazzuh338yI feel your pain, it's 5:49am rn and I'm just getting into bed, yet my family still thinks I'm lazy for waking up at 1pm
I get less overall sleep than them, it's just at a different time goddamnit -
My schedule is increasingly tending toward this as well. I have no issue staying up until 6AM+; the problem is then taking care of my diurnal obligations. π
-
I guess because it's considered 'different' and therefore a bad thing because you aren't following the rest of the flock.
-
hell169548ySend everyone update messages during your breaks until they get annoyed and acknowledge that you are not lazy.
-
Eariel19088y@Koolstr, I don't drive. I use public transport. Anyway, I changed my hours on my newest job, so I can usually be at work on my most productive hours. But I used to use AIDE to make personal projects while on the train or bus.

Squarety4286y@Koolstr π Its 7h30am and I go to sleep, I dont like to miss the morning fresh air but the night is so perfect to program its disturbance-free!
-
I really dont understand you how do you have the energy at night. For me also feels like everyone is resting and if if I work at night, I feel like being dumb.
About disctractions - you can rent office maybe with room just for you. If you work in a company where they are distracting, find remote job.

cjaro5We just spent 30 minutes standing around watching Elon Musk launch his car into orbit. I love working in IT.
I code through the night until 8 am, then sleep until 6pm+.
My family then calls me out as being unproductive and lazy.
Why must the whole world be oriented against night owls like me? π₯
